The Palaszczuk Government has announced a range of measures to address the causes of youth offending in Northern Queensland. This is a positive step towards providing assistance and creating sustainable strategies to divert juveniles from the criminal justice system. However, these measures fail to address the issue of youth homelessness or the difficulties faced by children in long-term care of the Department of Communities. Hopefully, these issues will be further considered and similar assistance can be directed to South East Queensland.
